Rec walking distance to Orpheum

Looks like rRN74 is a bit of a hike (?worth it).

Not interested in Absinthe,Jardinie or Zuni. Fallback may be gyro place (can't remember name) , on small street down from the library. Would like something more upscale where I could get in tonight or any really good ethnic. Have I overlooked something?

RN74 is all the way by the Embarcadero station (Oprheum is by the Civic Center station).

I concur with csp1, Heaven's Dog (dinner only on the weekend) is your best bet close to the Orpheum.

Brenda's Soul Food is near there if you're gonna be around during the day.

Also look at Mint Plaza... there's 54 Mint (Italian), Chez Papa Resto (French) and Thermador (a throwback American place).

Not on the level of some of the ones you mentioned, but Indigo would be an easy spot and you should be able to get in no problem.
