Les Halles in Coral Gables--Closed

markpy Jul 8, 2010 09:35 AM

I was so disappointed yesterday when I went to Les Halles (was in the mood for great french fries and onion soup) and saw the glass all boarded up with a sign on the door "Closed for Renovation". I was wondering if anyone had any info.

This occurred only within the past day or so. I seem to recall that it closed "for renovation" at least once before in the past year or two (and did in fact reopen). Business has seemed rather slow there for some time, and unfortunately the food is not nearly as good as it used to be years ago.

I have always enjoyed myself there. While I hope this is just a temporary situation, the fact they are closed on Bastille Day, which has been traditionally a Very Big Deal for them gives me pause.

I've steered clear for some years since seeing their kitchen. While their food is tempting, I was actually happy when I saw it closed.
