Disappointed... (Crippins, Blowing Rock, NC)

Last night we celebrated an anniversary at what used to be one of my favorite restaurants - Crippens in Blowing Rock. First of all, we love dining in the mountains where you get cooler temperatures and a more relaxed environment but last night did not measure up.
Our meal was good. My halibut was cooked well and my husband enjoyed his meal. But it was very overpriced. It was the little things like the waiter not pouring the beer I ordered into the glass - rather handing both beer bottle and glass to me to do the job. Like the restaurant owner seating us but rushing off to "bigger and better" things while the restaurant sat empty. I have always been impressed but last night felt as if the staff / owners of Crippens are sailing on past reviews and not earning current good marks. They used to be my favorite but I am now convinced that we will not be back anytime soon to pay their prices for mediocre services.
