Making doner kebab at home - need a cookbook suggestion

Hi, My husband loves the doner kebabs that he gets when we travel to Europe. I know that I'm not going to be able to do it exactly the way they do there as I don't have a way to do the big molded meat on a spit however I'm looking for a cookbook that will help duplicate the flavors in my kitchen. Can anyone suggest a cookbook for me to get that contains something close to the doner kebab?

The meat used in Doner kebab is more commonly called Gyros in the U.S. Alton Brown did a Food Network episode on how to make your own. The best results would be to grill it on a rotisserie, but he also has instructions for baking it meatloaf-style. http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/al...

Thanks for the link! We tried something last night that hubby liked but I wasn't crazy about so we are doing a new attempt tonight with the recipe from Alton!
