Normandy/Caen/ Bayeux

Any suggestions for good meals in Normandy? I am not looking for Michelin starred restaurants, just good local places. We will be traveling from Brussels, visiting the D-Day sites for a few days. We are staying in Caen. Thanks in advance!

  1. Suggets you search the "France" board for Bayeux. Ther are some recent answers to your question there. Good luck!

Also search for 'normandy' - I posted last year on some great places, Moulin de Jean is one place we loved so try to check that out.

    2. Yes ! Ttry Le BOUCHON DU VAUGUEUX in Caen ( great atmosphere great food but need to book as not expensive), Le Moulin de Jean in Cuves ( great!), Chez Francois in Genets, Littre in Avranches, Croix D'or in Avranches. i posted reply under Normandy last year. if in doubt go for Michelin Bib Gourmand listed ( not starred) restaurants and you won't go far wrong!

      Bon appetit

      1. Went to Chez Francois in Genets last night. A warm potato salad with pigs ears, then the pig's snout stuffed with black pudding, all served with perfect frites and a salade verte and all very good.

Good to know. I heart heart heart Genets.

        2. Sorry I'm late to the party, but we had a fabulous dining & seeing experience with two 13 yo's, so for the record and searchers-to-be -

          1. Le Petit Restro in Bayeux
