korean bbq in Honolulu

Well, I have tried many, many korean bbq places around Honolulu. So far, Camelia's on McCully is my favorite, but nothing has yet stood out as "the absoute best!" I prefer the buffet, cook at your table style the best, and am looking for other CHer's opinions. So what places do everyone like?

I must disagree. Camelia's is unsanitary and bad representation of Korean food. I feel like I am quite qualified to say this: I am Korean-American; I was born and raised in So Cal; I lived in Seoul for a year; I still visit Seoul every two or three years; I've been living in Hon 10+ years.

For at the table grilling, try Seoul Garden on King and Kalakaua or Koryo Won next to Club Femme Nu. For take-out BBQ I recommend Gina's in Kaimuki or Soon's in Salt Lake. For buffet grilling... don't do it. Don't. My short list is town-centric, but that's because I live in town.

If I have to cook it myself, I can do it at home. I go out to eat to get food I cannot produce myself. So which is the best Korean rest. on Oahu?

I have to agree with mokwo, Camelia's isn't very good. The meat is OK, not great, the sides, not so much. At what, $22 its an ok bargain. Some of my friends also like Koryo Won, others prefer cafe Million. Neither are buffet style. I will say that the McCully Camelia does seem better than the Beretania location. And yes, Ginas is good for take out. Most of my Korean friends agree that we don't have really great Korean food here in Honolulu, but the good is pretty good.
