Decadent version of Croque Madamme at Barbarella in LJ Shores.

Cafe Chloe, Currant and in a pinch St. Tropez can work...

Agree; just had Barbarella's version this weekend and it was stellar!

Second this - if you are in the area for breakfast or lunch during the week, Opera Cafe's Croques are very nice. They are not open for dinner. They also have Saturday brunch hours.

            Hi, Divamac!

I had a great Croque Madame at Opera for lunch, with a nice spring mix salad and an iced tea for $9.77

Note: Yes, I'm sure there are better versions in Berlin, Paris, New York, London, and possibly Bern.

Mmmm! That looks so good! The Croque Madame used to be a special only, but they succumbed to the many requests and had to make it a standard menu item. I also like the dressing on the salad (champagne vinegar, maybe, and lots of shallots) which mixes nicely with the yolk when it is broken. The tea, which might be tropical in flavor, is also nice. I have yet to visit Paris, so the Opera version will have to suffice for now.

Seen Madame on the menu at Bleu Boheme and the brunch menu at Avenue 5, but haven't tried it since I usually go for the coconut french toast at Ave 5.

Opera in Sorrento Valley and Wired in UTC are my two favorites in the Golden Triangle.
