Engagement Party Venue - 50+/- people

My girlfriend and I are recently engaged, and are looking to have our Engagement Party here in NYC in early October, on a Saturday night.

There will be about 50 people (give or take). We are looking for a private room in a restaurant or other space that will do a cocktail event (2-3 hours) with hors devours. It would be great for the food to be good.

Ideal locations would be close East/West Village or Lower East Side so that we can continue to go out after the event.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
