Riverdale restaurant for tonight....
I would like to go out for dinner in the Riverdale area tonight and wanted to try RubyWatch Co. but they are closed. I've already been to Table17 several times.
Can you recommend a resto with great food in the area?

An oldie but a goodie in my book: Tomi Kro at Queen and Leslie or Fare Bistro also on Queen East near Carlaw. Totally reliable nice relaxed vibe. Batifole on Gerrard is also great but there isn't much else around there (so no pre- or post-dinner drink spot)

I've heard Fare is pretty good, but I haven't been myself, so I can't vouch for it personally. Can't think of anything else at the moment. L'il Baci is pretty good and I would go if I was in the area, but having been to Queen Margherita since, I would go further east and go there, if I were in the mood for pizza. I had a decent meal at Le Papillon. I think that what they have going for it mostly is atmosphere (especially on the patio) and good service. The food is good, can't say anything is not good per se, but if it weren't for the atmosphere, I'm not sure I would rush back.

Maybe not quite Riverdale, but I would suggest Le Papillon on the Park on Eastern Avenue. We been many times and have always enjoyed everything. Great steak frites, and crepes. Nice desert selection as well.
Table 17 was going to be first suggestion until I read further in to your post.

Ended up going to Le Papillon and was plesantly surprised, I had such a bad meal at the Front St. East location. The poutine was good, husband enjoyed his steak frites and I really liked my salad with shrimp. The patio was closed though because of the heat, too bad because there were several patrons asking for the patio also.
