Where can I find halloumi in the Concord/Acton area?
Looking for this delicious grilling cheese somewhere around here (Concord/Acton). I checked my local supermarkets and found "Queso Tropical" which is a Latin-American grilling cheese which was good, but not quite the same as halloumi. I checked the smaller Whole Foods on my way through Newton this morning but they did not have it. Any ideas?
I hate to start off with a recommendation that's nowehere near what you're looking for, but If you make the trek to West Roxbury, Bay Sweets always has a few varieties. I think there are markets in Norwood and Westwood that carry it. Shockingly, I saw it at Roche Bros. a few weeks ago, in their limited "furrin" cheese section.

Whole Foods usually carries it pre-packaged. I've also seen it at Stop & Shop (same pre-packaged brand).
At WF, it's not kept in the fancy cheeses case, but usually in the cold-case area that has some "fresh" packaged pastas, fancy butters, packaged cheeses, etc. At Stop & Shop, it usually lives in the fancy cheeses/products free-standing refrigerated island, near the rear of the produce section.

The Cheese Shop in Concord center might have it.

If you don't mind heading to Watertown, Russo's has 1 or 2 brands from Cyprus, I think.

Thanks for the replies! I drive by Verrill Farm on my home from work, so I'll check it out. Haven't checked the Roche Brothers here yet, so that is a good one, so are Idlywylde and the Cheese Shop.

Trader Joe's used to carry prepackaged halloumi, so you could check out the Acton store.

Found! After a disappointing stop at Verrill Farm (no halloumi) , I hit Roche Bros and found it there, It was a little on the pricey side so I'll check out TJ's as well. Thanks!

Checked yesterday and saw it at Market Basket (Somerville), in the cold case with the queso frescas, farmers cheese, jarred taramasolata, etc. Wilson Farms often carries it too.
