Good Burger in Goodyear

If you are looking for a good burger in the southwest corner of the Valley, check out Wood Flame Burgers at Dysart and Van Buren just south of the I-10 in Goodyear.

The place house-grinds Nieman Ranch beef and cooks it over a wood fire. Three sizes, 4 oz, 6 oz and 8 oz. Almost everything is made in house including the buns. Yukon Gold Fries are cooked in a blend of rice oil and duckfat, tasty! He also does sweet potato fries, I didn’t try those. The house sauce is a creamy avocado mayo, interesting.

There is a lot of attention to detail in the quality of the ingredients here and I was impressed. Focused on local produce, too. Just burgers, nothing else. Its nothing fancy for atmosphere, so you go for the food. Worth a stop if you are over that way.

  1. Wow - thanks. I'm just up the road in Litchfield Park.. Can't wait to try it.
We're seriously lacking good burgers in this area.

Tried this today - Very good!
Had the 6oz, very nice beefy flavor, juicy, a little pink inside (I didn't specify doneness, just let him cook it for the 1st try). Loved to see roasted green chilis at the condiment bar.. loaded up on those. Really like the fresh baked bun, the great produce (tomato was great!)... Fries were great too - had the regular... coulda asked for them a touch more crispy, but still very good.

Very casual - order at counter and it's brought out to you. 6oz Burger w/cheese, fries and 20oz soft drink (bottle) about 8 bucks.
      Will def be back.
      (Only open to 7pm)

    2. Just adding link and map for future reference.

It looks like their website isn't up yet, but they have some pictures on their Facebook page. Those fresh-baked buns look great!

      1. We tried this today and would give it a grade of B minus. The burger, bun and toppings were good. The fries (Yukon Gold and Sweet Potato both) need some tweaking. They seemed underfried and oversalted. If they can get the fries right, this would be very good value for money. And if they could expand their menu to include some killer onion rings, which appear to be a lost art in Restaurant Land, I'd certainly be back.

Their summer hours are curtailed, so check before heading out.
