re: nanapop
Lobster "shacks" are more of a coastal phenomenon. Nevertheless, for more "casual" seafood places nearby
Sonny's Seafood, Readfield
Red Barn, Augusta (many swear by this place for fried seafood; I don't think they have lobster though)

Alden Camps has an excellent restaurant (I think it's BYOB) and does a Friday night lobster bake. If you're not staying there, advance reservations are essential.

re: Mainegal
Maybe it was too early in the season, and their staff hadn't got it together yet, but our dinner at Alden Camps three weeks ago was very disappointing in comparison to previous years. The service, especially, was bad....but the food was not up to par either. The last straw was when they brought out a list of 6 dessert choices, then almost immediately said that they were out of two of them. We then ordered red velvet cake, and the waitress came back to say that she was sorry, but that they "couidn't find" the red velvet cake. "Well", she said, "we know it was made because we all saw it and smelled it, just a few hours ago...but nobody can seem to find it! We don't know where the baker left the red velvet cake".
I imagine that places like Alden Camps, which are only open 3 or 4 months a year, have to hire new chefs each summer. This year, for us anyway, was a bust.

Consider The Village Inn, right in Belgrade, although I do not see a basic steamed/boiled lobster on the website menu it should be available.
Augusta is reasonably close by. Perhaps try Cloud Nine @the Senator Inn. Can't go wrong w/ basic lobster or grilled meats...good raw bar.
