Seafood for 50th Birthday

Looking for suggestions of Seafood restaurants to celebrate a 50th birthday. Live in Queens but happy to travel to the Manhattan, Westchester, Lower Connecticut or Long Island. We are a family of 4 adults.

We aren’t too much in to fish as much as seafood and we are not really drinkers so wine lists are not of a concern. Just looking for good food, good service and a nice atmosphere.

The greek places in Astoria are better known for their fish, but many like the scallops or grilled shrimp and squid, or stuffed crabmeat shrimp at Taverna Kyclades, but the place isn't fancy and very noisy---

Aquagrill in Manhattan is popular, but I've not been---so can't comment, but it might suit you...

It really depends what you want, shrimp, lobster, squid--clams?

There are several good places for shrimp and clams, and crabs in Flushing in Queens..

What style of seafood are you looking for? Italian, Asian, Continental, Greek?

If you're into shellfish, why not get some great Paella and Sangria, that's always a fun birthday celebration, and sounds perfect since you are all looking for the same type of seafood...I would go this route, especially for summertime..and throw in some tapas and flan--yummm.You might want to hit up some of the places in NJ or check out places in Manhattan..nothing really great for Spanish like this in Queens--I've tried many..--do a search for best --been the place on east 9th in the city and didn't care for it..but there are lots more choices,,,post on Manhattan board for better suggestions..Socarret gets good reviews, but haven't been...and it's more like bar seating..

I must endorse London Lennies very strongly. Excellent shellfish...I like the fried soft clams myself. Great raw bar too, and fairly reasonable for a seafood place.

Ive been there before but was looking for something a tiny bit more upscale. If you are familar with the Jolly Fisherman in Roslyn that was more on the level I was seeking. But would have to say LL is a good place to eat.

I have not been, but very particular friends have raved about Rockaway Seafood Company in Belle Harbor.

There's only one place that comes to mind for such a special occasion (and this will get us moved to the Manhattan board): do the tasting menu at Le Bernardin.

Only thing is the Le Bernandin is a fish pllace so much more then a seafood place. I looked at the menu and most of us would not be happy.
