Hicksville Sweet Shop: an Off Day?

Fresh off a family outing to Coney Island on a 100 degree day, stopped at Hicksville Sweet Shop around 6pm on a Monday for ice cream. There were only two other tables occupied, but it took 10 minutes for the waitress to bring a menu, and 20 minutes more for 4 sundaes. 2 of which were not what was ordered.

Not the end of the world, but of the 6 flavors of ice cream tasted, 4 were icy.

  1. Could be freezer problems (malfunctions or LIPA brownouts). When ice cream gets melted or too soft and then re-freezes, it becomes icy.

Yeah, I know why it happens, just not why they served it anyway.

    2. Had the exact same experience (although they got our order correct) the first and only time we went about 2 years ago - would never go back. I'm surprised the place is still open.
