Hicksville Sweet Shop: an Off Day?

Fresh off a family outing to Coney Island on a 100 degree day, stopped at Hicksville Sweet Shop around 6pm on a Monday for ice cream. There were only two other tables occupied, but it took 10 minutes for the waitress to bring a menu, and 20 minutes more for 4 sundaes. 2 of which were not what was ordered.

Not the end of the world, but of the 6 flavors of ice cream tasted, 4 were icy.

Had the exact same experience (although they got our order correct) the first and only time we went about 2 years ago - would never go back. I'm surprised the place is still open.

Could be freezer problems (malfunctions or LIPA brownouts). When ice cream gets melted or too soft and then re-freezes, it becomes icy.

Yeah, I know why it happens, just not why they served it anyway.
