Staying in Indian Shores-where should we eat in this area? Don't mind a drive!

Chowhounders,
Please give me your recommendations for this part of the Tampa Bay area.

We are quite happy to drive 30-45 minutes (along the coast or inland) for a good meal.

We are most interested in the following cuisines:
Mexican
Thai
Steaks
Italian

However, good recs for burgers/dogs, pizza, sandwiches, bakeries, breakfast would also be appreciated.

Flexible budget, would like some cheap eats but also want a few "nice" meals.

All your recs in the past have been great so looking forward to some more!!

For steaks, you might want to consider E&E Stakeout Grill in Belleair. They also have excellent seafood. If they have hog snapper on the specials board, try it as it is excellent in my opinion.

Salt Rock Grill in Indian Rocks is wonderful for a "nice" meal. If you are in the Clearwater Beach area Frenchy's Rockaway on the beach is a must. Carmelita's (several locations) inland is great for Tex-Mex. Nori Thai on St. Pete Beach has a wonderful selection of thai and sushi. Cappy's on First Ave N in downtown St. Pete is a great locally owned pizza place with great regular tossed and Chicago style...also order the greek salad for some veggies. Z-Grille in downtown St. Pete for continental food in an upscale atmosphere...order the Dr. Pepper Ribs. Primi Urban Cafe in downtown St. Pete for excellent Italian food. Seahorse Cafe in Passe Grille is a great local dive for breakfast. El Cap on 4th Street boasts the best burger in town and cheap too but not being a meat eater I opt for the BLT. A little bit further of a drive is Malio's in downtown Tampa for more upscale continental cuisine. Mazzaro's on 22nd Avenue in downtown St. Pete is a wonderful Italian market where you can order sandwiches, gelato etc. as well as pre-made food to take home and heat up in oven or microwave...also a wonderful wine room with frequent tastings and grocery for those hard to find authentic items. Chattaway's on 4th Street South in downtown St. Pete is an institution serving up burgers, grouper sandwiches and such...but bring cash as that is all they accept. Good luck and have fun sampling some of Tampa Bays wonderful restaurants!

For good, creatively prepared seafood at relatively reasonable prices, I like Guppy's and Keegan's on Indian Rocks Beach (I think Guppy's is the nicer/better of the two, and it's also a little pricier). If you like Oysters Rockafeller, Keegan's has some of the best I've ever had. Also like TJ's Italian Cafe on Indian Rocks Beach...there's a nice little outdoor patio, and both pizza and Italian dishes are good.

Just to the south in Redington Shores, Talay Thai is a lovely little spot with wonderful Thai food at excellent prices (try the crab soup!). Also good in the "Redingtons" (Redington Beach, Redington Shores and North Redington) are The Frog Pond for delicious, creative (and huge) breakfasts and sandwiches and The Conch Republic for good, straightforward fresh Florida seafood in a fun Key West Enviornment.
