Fish & Chips in the Valley?

Looking for great fish & chips in the SF Valley...Something along the lines of Eammon's in Alexandria, VA...

The Blue Dog Beer Tavern in Sherman Oaks does an exemplary one.

Pickwicks Pub on Ventura Blvd. just 1 1/2 blocks west of De Soto. I haven't had their fish/chips but their shepard's pie, bangers/mash and steak/kidney pie are great. I had a meatloaf sandwich there once; washed it down nicely with an ice cold Newcastle Brown on tap.

Robin Hood pub in what used to be called Van Nuys (Valley Glen now?) is considered pretty good. Burbank Blvd east of Woodman. Eammon's in Alexandria may not be familiar to LA Hounds.

I definitely second Robin Hood pub. I have no experience with Eammon's, but looking at the website, I think the main differences are that Robin Hood has a lot of different British food options. It's not a pure chippy, with a lot of different fish options. I think Robin Hood just does cod. But at the same time, Robin Hood lets you get a scotch egg, cornish pastie or sausage roll. Plus you can buy all sorts of British goods at the shop next door.

So you guys don't like Cat & Fiddle too much then? It has been crazy there with World Cup folks, and anyone who is into their sports. Decent fish & chips.scotch eggs, and sheperds pie. There's another place in Arcadia I've wanted to try out called Matt Denny's that has some of the similiar food (but also has pretty excellent selection of beer on tap too). Good Brit food is hard to find sometimes

Are you sure the "Cat & Fiddle" is in the ( S.F. ) Valley ?

Well if your willing to go to Arcadia then better to go to Brits in Pasadena for F&C.

The closest Cat & Fiddle has been to SFV is when it first open on Laurel Cyn underneath the Canyon Store in the late 70s. I know because I lived across the street from it back then. It is a Hollywood pub through & through.

Love Robin Hood Pub--not only are the fish 'n' chips excellent, but the whole menu is pretty darned acceptable. Even the salads, which means anyone can find something to order. Nice selection of beers, too, and the ambiance is polite.
