Spending a few days to meet up with friends from Sweden, we all used to live in the NYC area. Open to Indian, Greek, whatevever might be out there. Will be there Tues. - Thurs., and we have a few young children in tow. Can anyone recommend casual, fun spots with great food? Any not-to miss spots?

As long as it's not too hot out, I LOVE Jolli Mon's in Dunedin. It's mostly outside, kind of jamaican/key west style bar food. EXCELLENT jerk pork sandwich.

I'm sure most CH'ers know more than I, so I'll let them elaborate on the rest.

Thanks for the tips. Any healthy options? My friends have just spent 4 days in Disney, so I'm sure they'd love some fresh and refeshing food about now.

Yes! They have lots of seafood and I forgot bout the excellent fish tacos.

Also, the grilled, jerk chicken wings are very good for an app.
I like to get the Mac and cheese and mix it with their homemade jerk hot sauce.

Villa Gallace its on Indian Shores, on Gulf Blvd... wonderful italian resturant from originally NJ but they are a mom and pop place, Just remember its NY/NJ prices and their desserts come directly from Italy. We enjoyed this last year for my dads 90th birthday party!

Will keep these places in mind for our next visit. we stayed within a short walk of our hotel. We tried Forlini's. Enjoyed the fresh pasta. Hopefully we'll be in the neighborhood again soon, it's a great place to visit!

Sorry, I had a long post typed out but lost it as I accidentally closed my browser.

Anyhow, it sounds like you are no longer in the Clearwater area. I hope you found something good while in the area. It can be very difficult to find good "chowish" food around the CLW area particularly Clearwater Beach - but it can be found , , ,
