new blue bottle location

I was dragged to Zachary's on College Ave in Oakland the other day, and noticed a giant Blue Bottle logo in the window of what I believe was the old 22 Shoes store.

I also noticed eating Zachary's on location is marginally better than taking it to go, though it still isn't my taste.

OMG! Tell me this is true, and I can get their iced coffee any time. I'm going by to look today....

Just because a place is using BB coffee doesn't mean it is BlueBottle Coffee. There is a big difference. This location is not a Blue Bottle coffee outlet.

There is a difference, however some of the best places to get BB are not BB.

You can get a decent BB at Tacubaya on Fourth Street; but, in fact, the best Blue Bottle coffee comes from their own outlets...I think the quality of a BB drink is very dependent on the barista preparing it, and their own people do it best...

BTW, my new favorite coffee bart is at the mothership on 3rd & Webster, near Jack London Square.

Rapini, I agree completely with your post. There is more to a good espresso or coffee then just the beans. In fact the beans are just 25% of the equation for what it takes to make an excellent drink. All the top roasters in the area (BB,Ritual, 4-barrel, Ecco Caffe, etc) wholesale their beans to other outlets. it is a double edged sword in most cases.

Puccino is good but no way better than BlueBottle. Besides, Puccino of all the non BB outlets has the longest relationship with BlueBottle. The owner of Pucinno after all is the landlord of BB at the hayes Valley location.
