There's a new Mexican joint that just opened in Geneva a few weeks ago where RJ's Deli was. We went for lunch today, and were really impressed, especially since it's brand new. It's not your average taco, tostada, chimichanga place. More like Bien Trucha, which we loved, but it's just too small when you have a 6 month old, 2 year old and 11 year old. This is a bigger place with food that's right up there with Bien Trucha, IMO.
We went for lunch today. They have asada and al pastor tacos, and then there's 7 different tacos, and 7 tortas.
I had the Campechanos tacos - homemade chorizo and marinated carne asada with cebollitas de cambray (onions), melted chihuahua cheese and morita salsa. This comes with a cup of drunken beans with bacon and sausage mixed in. Delicious.My husband and son in law had El Molcajete Sincronesadas which is marinated pork in chile ancho achiote between flour torillas, melted cheese with roasted pineapple pico and spicy salsa -served like a kicked up, big quesadilla.
Next time, which will be soon, I'm going to try the shrimp tacos with grilled onions in a tangui orange-chipotle sauce and fresh jicama-pico served with a cup of their house special chochoyette soup.
And they have a kids menu And the service was excellent!!

Thank you for a review for El Molcajete. We just went for lunch today, and it was wonderful! The decor seems like it's just a regular Mexican restaurant. But when the food came out, it was elegant and has very complex flavors. Delicious!! Hopefully they will stay in business, when we went today, we were the only table there.
