Thats about it, where can I find it. Rivalries necessary.

Pretty good CFS at Page's Okra Grill in Mount Pleasant...although it does come with milk gravy (that's not exactly Southern).

Try the Roadhouse in N Charleston.

      Texas Roadhouse @ 2130 Melnick Drive, North Charleston, SC 843 - 569 - 7556.

Do not go to Texas Roadhouse, it is a mediocre, large chain restaurant. I'm not from Charleston, although I was just there visiting. I'm sure you will get responses from some more locals

Roadhouse is a large chain restaurant but I would not say the food is mediocre. It may be compared to Charleston Place but the OP is looking for country fried steak not Prime Beef Tenderloin. I think Roadhouse could prepare a decent CFS dish for the OP. Can you suggest a Charleston restaurant that serves CFS that's is not mediocre. That would help.

As I stated in my post, I'm not from Charleston, or SC at all, I was just visiting. There MUST be a local restaurant serving chicken fried steak, no reason to get it at a chain.

I AM in Charleston and, since we have so much fabulous food, here I don't go to chains. But the poster asked for Country Fried Steak. It's just not prevalent. I agree that Page's is good, but their shrimp is so good I would get that instead. Collards there are good too.
