Sports Bar between Weed and Redding

I don't find that good food and sports bar generally go together, but I need to find a spot to watch the Wednesday World Cup semi-final game on my way south on I-5, and I'm hoping to get my game with a dynamite lunch.

I can be anywhere around Weed, Shasta, Dunsmuir, Redding by 11, so if there are any suggestions out there for good grub that comes with a tv I'd love to know about it!

Hi - can't offer you the perfect marriage of fabulous food and a sports bar (or at least great screens) too, but I am curious if others have found such a match.

Redding does have a sports bar where you should be able to catch the game - Bleachers on Hilltop Avenue. The food is pretty typical - lots of fried, the token salad, etc. But they do have lots of screens. The service left some to be desired too - friendly, but not nearly enough staff (gee, you mean the US soccer team is playing the World Cup? And people might come into our sports bar to watch it? On a Saturday, no less? Does that mean we should have more than two people on duty?). Sorry, got off on a little rant there . . .

    Good luck on your quest!

This is obviously too late for the original poster, but Billy Goat's Tavern in Mt. Shasta would fit the bill. They are not a "sports bar" but did have television with sports when I visited and the food was much better than you would find at most places in the area. I had the Kobe beef burger with a side of curried carrot soup and it was all fantastic. www.thegoatmtshasta.com
