PLEASE help with a birthday dinner restuarant
Hi Guys, I'm new here (posting) although I read quite a bit on here. My husband's birthday is next week, he LOVES seafood. I'd like to surprise him with a nice dinner. I was thinking of taking him to Hartford to a comedy show that evening. The 2 names I've come up with is Maxs Downtown, and Max's Oyster Bar.... which one would you recommend? Or somethng entirely different?! (I'm open to suggestions). I am planning on making 8 pm comedy show at City Steam on Main Street after ~ so someplace close by would be great so we don't have to pay double for parking, but again open to recommendations. Thanks, in advance, for any help!

Max Downtown is one of my favorites. It's the flagship of the Max Restaurant Group, and as such, is the most elegant of all of the Max options. You would also do well at Trumbull Kitchen, which is part of the Max Group. I haven't been to Max's Oyster Bar, but it's in West Hartford Center, and you'll have a bit of a commute to downtown Hartford. It might be wiser and more expeditious to just park in the city, dine at Max's and then walk to City Steam after.

It would be more convenient to park before dinner. Feng is great for sushi. Look at the menus for Dish, Max Downtown and Trumbull Kitchen. They all have seafood done well.

Just a thought, but maybe you'd get more responses if the title of your post included the city....otherwise, most folks are likely to skip it, since, given the new geography of the boars, you're just as likely to be asking about someplace on Cape Cod as you are to be asking about Greenwich, CT.
