Is Hot Pot Buffet in Chinatown BYOB?

I think I read somewhere that they don't have a liquor license. Can you BYOB? I can't imagine having hot pot without icy cold beer.

Any tips/info appreicated.

That's what I needed to know. So long as I can have an icy cold watery Tsingtao I am fine.

Didn't know "No BYOB" was the law. Man this city can be a bummer.

I think the only way to find out and not potentially spoil the party is to ask at the premises. Some places do allow it, but as heavydee points out, it's a legal risk for them, so it's best not to talk about it in a public forum.

Although apparently current CH policy is that if illegal BYOB in a Boston restaurant is freely discussed on Yelp, it's okay for folks to post about it here. Makes no sense to me but there you go.

If you see Yelpers doing it, you should discourage them, too.

We all talk about, we (and the restaurants) all lose.

My sentiments exactly, but the mods here specifically declined to remove that post and told me that it was because that restaurant's BYOB policy was openly discussed on Yelp.

BYOB is illegal in any establishment in the City of Boston, so the short answer is no.
