Can I bring a kid to Recette?
She's pretty well-behaved but I try to limit her dining to loudish places so we don't disturb everyone around us. Should I get a sitter? Thanks.

She is just about two and doesn't make a lot of noise. However, I try to be respectful of those around us, who don't necessarily want to hear a kid babbling when dining. She goes out with us a lot - Barbuto, Locanda Verde, and ABC Kitchen are recent venues - and, if dining with her, we'll eat at 6:30 or 7. If Recette and casual and kind of loud, I think we'll bring her.

re: gutsofsteel
When we had dinner at Marea a few weeks ago, there was an infant in a carriage at one of the tables not far from ours. They were there when we arrived at 10:30, and they (six diners) were still there when we left at around midnight. It was kind of odd seeing a carriage alongside a table, but not a peep from that baby while we were there.

re: rrems
We had dinner there for the first this past Saturday evening -- a 9:30 reservation-- and with about 60% of the tables occupied, I found the noise level to be very high though not insane. I know you've been there often, so I'd love to know when you've found the place "not loud." The food was delicious, so we will go back.
