lobster rolls near Westford, Lowell, Nashua and vicinity

Hi - I have family visiting from NY City where lobster rolls are all the rage now.. they are looking for an authentic, no frills/fillers New England lobster roll .. I've never been a huge fan of lobster rolls, since I'd rather get it whole, steamed/boiled.. but I gotta give the family what they want.. can someone direct me to a local place? I think Kimball Farm has them.. anyone every try them?

Thanks so much!

  1. They do have them but i have not tried them. I have seen them and they look ok. They have celery in them and i hate celery so i always stick with the fried seafood and onion rings which are both very good.

I HATE celery too, but I didn't think there was a lot in the roll - they chop it up pretty good so it's not annoying / distracting from the lobster roll. We usually fly to the one in Jaffrey, which I'm told has better food than some of the other Kimball Farm locations.

thanks guys .. we usually go for the fried seafood.. so hopefully the lobster roll won't disappoint my family..

other than Kimball, are there any other places worth trying? even just to pick up one to bring home to eat?

Had the lobster roll at Kimball's today. Chock full of chunks of lobster, only two little discernable pieces of celery, very light on the mayo. Very, very good.

How much was it? Is it fixed price or market price?

Great question. I honestly am not sure - I'm just not all that price aware. I seem to remember it being around $15. Don't know if it fluctuates. Lunch for 4 adults included a fish sandwich, clamstrip plate, cheeseburger, lobster roll, side of onion rings, sodas and a beer, and came to $65. Kid shared the clamstrip plate with her dad and they were both full.

Edit: My husband saved the receipt! Lobster roll was $16.95.

Eatin, I had the Kimball roll for lunch today. It was just as you described...good amount of claw meat, big chunks of meat in general, just a touch of celery and mayo, buttered griddled roll...excellent and definitely worth $16.95. It comes with a choice of red bliss potato salad, chips or cole slaw and a watermelon slice on the side.

      2. The Lobster roll at the Glenview Pub is HUGE and delicious. It's about $20 and the one time I had it, it was so worth it. It is not your classic New England roll tho, it's served in a bready french roll. I don't remember for sure (call them if you want to find out), but I am pretty sure it only had lobster and Mayo in it and there was tons of meat.

I just called and for some reason they are closed until Monday 7/19.

I tried stopping in late Saturday afternoon and didn't realize they were closed. We ended up heading to the beach for an early dinner at Eastman's Bar and Grill in Seabrook.

            2. Is Philbrick's Fish Market still open in Nashua?

Dunno but Lil' Lobster Boat in Tyngsboro is another option.

              2. Kimball's is nothing special. Try Fishbone's in Chelmsford. Same road as Kimball's but about 2-3 miles east.
