Looking for Caterer or Pizza Joint to Make Pizzas to Order for Party

vinosnob Jul 1, 2010 01:16 PM

I'm helping inputting together a large party at a house that has an outside professional pizza oven. The oven is gas powered, but it could be powered with wood too.

Can anyone recommend a caterer or pizza restaurant that would provide all of the pizza makings and make pizzas to order?

Was thinking Sammy's, but my guess is they might be too pricey.

What I'd do is go to Whole Foods and ask one of the people behind the counter if they'd like to make some extra money making pizzas. I would imagine that experience with an oven like that is hard to come by.

      Great idea, thanks!

Also, I'm looking for a pizzeria/restaurant that sells pizza dough in bulk; any ideas?

Trader Joe's is not an option ;)

Why not make your own and provide a bunch of your own toppings and then let people custom make their pizzas? You could even lay out a few suggestions by getting ideas from places like Bruno, Blind Lady, Mozza, Bianco, etc.

What about Principi's Pizza? Andrew, the owner, has a woodfired pizza oven on wheels and used to make pizzas at the Mercato on Saturdays, but I haven't seen him there for quite a while. The most recent post on his facebook page is from last year, too.
