Middle Eastern Desserts in Manhattan?

queenbx Jul 1, 2010 11:02 AM

Looking for a selection of Middle Eastern desserts to go. Was thinking Damask Falafel on Avenue A, but they've closed. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I like Gulluoglu in Midtown East.

I second Gulluoglu - they have an interesting, unique selection of desserts including chestnut flavor of baklava and various other pastries.

Güllüoğlu on 2nd avenue - the sour cherry baklava is supreme followed by the cream baklava. Went to Güllüoğlu in Karakoy in Istanbul in 2001 brought some to Athens with rave reviews.

I like Andres cafe and bakery in the UES, it might not be middle eastern enough though. If you're willingly to travel Astoria Queens also has some great spots.
