World Cup Match - Saturday July 3 @ 7am in San Jose area
Does anyone know where one can watch the 7am game on Saturday in San Jose or Gilroy? I'll be driving on my way south and my husband must watch the game.
Thanks.

Here's a list of some San Jose sports bars http://www.sanjose.com/nightlife/spor... Maybe call them and ask if they'll be open for it?

I'll do that.

http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/713100 is an earlier thread, although recommendations are heavy on the SF/Oakland side. But if you put an address into Google and then input "World Cup", it will show locations nearby from their database. The Britannia Arms in Cupertino looks like a good possibility.

I looked at that thread but the furthest south mentioned was RWC. Thanks.

People do speak highly of the Brittania Arms. Further north, I'd try the Old Pro and Rose and Crown in PA if that's not out of range.

Thanks everyone. Brittania Arms in San Jose worked out perfectly since they have plenty of big televisions set up throughout the venue. The bar was packed when we got there at 7:30 am and people were eating English-looking breakfast dishes that we didn't try since we just drank coffee.

The Duke of Edinburgh in Cupertino will have it. Great selection of English beers there. Not sure what they'll have for food, but you can call them. Don't know if that's far enough south for you but it's near 280.

Today's San Jose Mercury News reported that www.mercurynews.com will have a list of places showing the games but I couldn't find any info (only a detailed list for East Bay, go figure) The Merc said their people will be at Brittania Arms in downtown San Jose. Call first...
