Birthday dinner for a wine lover?

Hi All!
I need your recommendations...My Boyfriend's birthday is coming up and Im ready to make a reservation for his bday dinner. Since he loves wine, we went to Veritas last year. What are your recommendations for this year?? Looking for something special and am willing to spend a good deal of money...

      1. Veritas is still far and away the best choice for an oenophile, especially if you decide to purchase multiple bottles off the list. Doing that at some of NYC's top tier restaurants (especially Per Se) can be mind-numbingly expensive. Cru is the other major wine-centric restaurant, but the food doesn't measure up anymore.

        All of the restaurants mentioned by goodhealthgourmet have very impressive wine lists. In particular, Le Bernardin stands out for its incredible selection of Burgundies, and EMP has a great by-the-glass list. I would also add The Modern for consideration. If Italian wines are of special interest, Babbo shoots to the top of the list.
