Hey all!

I'm planning to do a food trip to DC and was wondering an places recommended for fried seafood. Anything casual would be fine. I saw a segment on TV for Horace and Dickies. Is this something recommended to try?

H&D does an awesome 4-piece fried whiting "sandwich" for $5. You might also want to try Sullivan's Seafood up Bladensburg Road, another carryout that serves an excellent 1/2lb fried crabcake sandwich for $11. Their fried shrimp po boy is also generous and tasty.

Hank's Oyster Bar in DuPont Circle has a good hand with frying. Thin, tender, shatteringly crisp batter.

If Market Lunch, at the Eastern Market, has fried soft shell crabs, GO. They are excellent.

If you want the best, get either the fried clams at Kinkead's (upscale) or the crabcake at Oohhs and Aahhs, a hole-in-the-wall.
