Mail order is about the only way. and it's very very very late in the season, shells as hard as a rock.
How much are you looking for?

Not sure but probably enough for 10 people. I'm thinking about having a crawfish boil this weekend. Would you advise against getting frozen crawfish?

        Absolutely advise against frozen,disgusting.

If you are really looking to do it, 10 people would be about 50 pounds. Well, the formula is typically 5 pounds per guy and 2-3 per women. Are the people involved used to eating them? If not you can cut that down.

Thanks so much for the advise. None of my friends are used to eating them but I'll still stay clear of the frozen kind.

If none are used to eating them, I would get closer to one sack, about 30 pounds, depending on how much they squeeze in there. Or you could go less and add other items to the boil, such as sausage, frozen corn (you can use fresh but cook it before adding), mushrooms, whole artichoke etc. Anything that will absorb the seasoning. I typically add these items anyway, but you could do less crawfish, as most who are not familiar with peeling them etc will tire of the effort.
