O Dinis East Providence Portuguese Oh Yeah
Best Portuguese I've had in New England. Went there last week. I felt like I was actually in Portugal. Pork and clams were superior. The grilled salt cod was out of this world.

In Providence for a show, we dropped in on O'Dinis for lunch primarily because they were easy to find off I-195. Excellent vegetable soup. Flipped a coin and took the steak sandwich which was fine, but wished later I had gone with the chourica sandwich for greater authenticity. Enjoyed the flan for dessert and also took home an Almond Pie for later. I hope I'm near here for supper sometime, since the rabbit and the chicken specials looked good. Friendly waitress and enthusiastic Portuguese (I think) conversation all around us.

I went there last week. Excellent. Had the braised rabbit with rice and a Sagres. A steal for about $17 dollars without tip. The atmosphere is old school neighborhood tavern, where everyone knows your name.
I am not sure if it is the best Portuguese in New England, but it is definitely up there.
