Montreal Meals

Planning a two day stay in Montreal -- thinking about Casa Tapas and Romados and Le Piton de la Fournaise -- are these good choices? Open to suggestions . . . thanks so much.

  1. What type of food are you looking for and what's your budget? Have you been to Montreal before?

We have been to Montreal before -- spent time on St. Denis which was great fun (Tibetan food was a first) We like good food and like casual == nothing too uptight. Like ethnic foods, small places. It's not so much about the money as it is the food and ambience unless we getting take out for back in the hotel room.

It is famous and no contest about the quality of the smoked meat, but it depends on what kind of food and ambiance you like. (I prefer to take away one of their admirable smoked chickens, personally).

Agreed. I actually prefer Le Main for smoked meat. It's just accross the street. It tastes just as good to me(I'm no smoked meat snob tho) and the dining experience is much more relaxed. You can sit at a booth and enjoy your meal without feeling rushed. Also, the wait staff, IMHO is way more pleasant than at Schwartz's
