Ottawa with kids - restaurant recos?
We're travelling to Ottawa (from Toronto) for the Canada Day weekend with our kids, 6, 4 and 2. Staying at a hotel downtown (minutes from Parliament Hill) from Wednesday evening to just after breakfast Saturday morning. I've looked through a few Ottawa food blogs and feel a bit overwhelmed so I'm hoping for some decent, interesting, not overly-expensive (and cheap is also acceptable!), kid-friendly restaurant suggestions. They won't eat anything too spicy and are quite happy with Asian cuisine (although I've read that you don't really go to Ottawa for good Chinese food). I would love to get through the weekend without having to resort to McDonald's or other similar fast food chains.
Thanks for your help!
A couple of places come to mind:
The Grand Pizzeria in the market

There is a Milestones right next to Parlement Hill, I've found that their food is decent.
Darcy McGee's Pub on the corner of Sparks and Elgin

There is a Richtree restaurant still in the Rideau Centre- not always the best food but kids seem to get a kick out of it.
For TexMex there is Lonestar in the market.

If all else fails, there's Tucker's Marketplace in the Market as well.
Avoid Dunn's, Zaks Diner isn't so great anymore. The Fish Market is a tourist trap.

Not sure if this is what you had in mind but this past winter we took our then 3 month old to Benny's Bistro for breakfast & to Play for lunch. Both places were amazing in their accomodation of our little guy. Both places are located in the Byward market area. Also you may want to consider a walk through the market area - there are some food court style places that looked interesting and would be perfectly acceptable for kids
Happy Canada Day!

If you're planning on staying in the Parliament Hill/Market area, most of the food in that area is overpriced and not that great. For lunch, I would recommend going to the market, picking up some fresh fruit, and going to one of the cheese shops and the bakeries and making your own lunch and eating on the Hill.
For dinner, the hotel restaurants aren't that bad, especially in the Westin.
