Searching for salad

I'm in San Diego for a couple months and would love to find a great dinner salad. I'm a vegetarian, so I want a salad sans meat, poultry, and seafood. Dairy is ok.

I've already discovered some great veggie places, but if any of you have any special recommendations for places that serve great veggie food, I'd love to hear about them.

Thanks.

I love Enoteca Style/ Salad Style Both are downtown but Enoteca is a wine bar first salad/panini place second. Their salads are great especially just the house salad and the couscous salad. They also have a great bruschetta with avocado, lime, scallion and sea salt that is super tasty.
I also like Tender Greens in Point Loma.

I'll second Roxy. It's been there forever with a dated and never-changing menu and interior, but every time I've been there I've really enjoyed their simple brand of food, all made from scratch. I've always paid particular attention to their plain house salad. Nothing fancy at all about their salad, other than the notably extraordinary quality of their veg. (In fact it's always amazed me how *their* simple salad can taste so good...)

Now I'm no Vegetarian but once in a while I still get a craving for *their* Falafel burger and house salad. In fact I recently visited after a long hiatus with an anxiety that somehow I've just been overrating their food, but came home feeling that sure enough, they are good.

I like Lean and Green too but they close around dinner time don't they?

Tender Greens in Point Loma and Salad Style but there is no good place to sit and eat there, so I'd say Tender Greens.

Bandar is a Persian restaurant downtown, and they make a very nice middle-eastern salad w/ feta.

Also, second Enoteca Style. Extraordinary Desserts in Little Italy also makes some good entree salads.

Also, I know you are more of a beer person but their wine list is what I think is the best in the city right now. They have some crazy unique wines by the glass and the Wednesday half off bottle night is a steal.

I'm not only a beer person. When I go to Enoteca Style I drink wine. I love the fact they have vinho verde. They also usually have some very nice German rieslings.

They also have a nice Gruner Veltliner (sp?) Right now their white flight also includes a nice minerally wine from Spain thats different from an Albarino and something light from France. I'm trying to convince them to upgrade their meats as the pork shoulder panini sounds amazing.

                  Yum.

                  I agree about the meats.

Tender Greens in Pt Loma does good salads and a nice roasted veggies dinner plate. As for great veggie food, virtually any of this board's darlings will serve (at least) one or two veggie options, most of which are really good.

Nearly every place listed here will offer something vegetarian to eat (with some taco trucks/taquerias as a possible exception) - I'm vegetarian too, so this is all from experience.

The Salad bar at Whole Foods has a nice selection and they have a promotion every Wed, 5.99 per lb.

Have fun! I've mentioned it on lots of other threads, but I also love starlite and alchemy, not exclusively veggie, but always something interesting, and also jyoti byangi (sp?) around adams and 30th, if they are open!
