Best Indian lunch in Portland?
I'm visiting from Boston and the friend that I'm staying with said that she now loves Indian food. We are looking for a great lunch tomorrow before a long drive. I've never had Indian in Portland before so I have no idea how it compares to Boston. If Indian food in general is just not up to snuff in Portland, we are happy to eat something else. Thanks!!

Tandoori Kitchen at 4th and Oak does a decent Indian buffet, but if you're open to other options, I'd go to one of Portland's great Thai restaurants. Some are better than others, but for the most part you can't go wrong. My personal favorites for lunch are eSan downtown and Pad Thai kKitchen at around SE 26th and Belmont.

For a sit down place try East India Trading Co. on 11th behind the central library. They are a little pricey, but the food is pretty good. You can get more authentic Indian food in Beaverton and Hillsboro.
The best Indian cart in town is right around the corner from there next to the MAX track - Bombay Chaat House. There are two carts here with similar name so remember Bombay...
