Tips for Dining, Eating, and Food Shopping in Manhattan

Dinner tonight along the PATH line in Manhattan?

I'm meeting a friend for dinner tonight. She's coming in from Jersey City and wants to meet anywhere along the PATH line. I live in Brooklyn and am blanking on a good place on the West side. Any suggestions? We're looking for casual, not terribly expensive, not a scene, etc... Any type of food is fine. Thanks!

  1. You have a lot choices as the Path goes through the West Village, Greenwhich Village and Chelsea.

One block from the Christopher St. Path station is Malatesta Trattoria. Casual, simple, and not pricey Italian food. BTW - cash only.

Super-second Malatesta Trattoria. On a beautiful block near the water, home-made pasta. Can't go wrong.

    2. Cafe Asean is cheap, cute Pan-Asian a few blocks from the 9th Street Path Station. You'll love it.

      1. If she gets off at WTC you could go somewhere round Wall Street, like Harry's or Demonico's. I love Stone Street in the Financial District with all its restaurants and pubs.

Also if she gets off at WTC, she can walk over to TriBeCa. There are plenty of great restaurants in the neighborhood.
