Looking for a romantic restaurant near Guy-Concordia OR metro-accessible...not too $$$.

Celebrating my GF's first birthday together and I don't want to screw it up by walking into a bad, overpriced restaurant. I haven't been to MTL since I was a kid so I need tips! I swear this will be my last request for recommendations...

I used to love going to Bistro Gourmet downtown. Its right outside of Guy Metro station: 2100 St-Mathieu. The food was always great and really not too expensive I'd say 50$ per head should cover it.

Decca 77 has a 35$, 3-course prix fixe that won't bust the bank. Ambiance is more urban hip than romantic, but I certainly enjoyed it with my hubby last summer.

What do you consider not too $$$? There are so many good options to choose from...if you give us an idea of price, and type of food, I'm sure plenty of people will chime in with suggestions.

Anything but asian and asian fusian food. I'm looking for two options, $30 per head and $50 per head, not including drinks since we'll most likely be heading out for drinks later. Or thebest bang for the buck. It just has to be good and worth the money.

a quick metro to champs de mars to end up in the old port. There are lots of great restaurants in that area. DNA being one of them that crosses my mind.

If not, take the metro to mont-royal stop and go to 5e peche. Sherbrooke metro has deux gamins which might also fit the bill.

IMHO one of the best values is Mas Cuisine - but you have to reserve well in advance, because it's so tiny. It's a 3-course prix fixe, which will meet your price range nicely.
