Looking for a good bakery that makes birthday cakes in Watertown (or nearby).

I've gotten birthday cakes from Antoine's Bakery in Nonantum and been very pleased with the results.

Icing on the cake in Newton not far from watertown line makes great looking and tasting cakes. Pricey but they're very well designed and made.

Party Favors in Coolidge Corner isn't all that far from Watertown. I used to live in Coolidge Corner and drove to Watertown all the time to go to Russo's.

No reason to drive to Party Favors with Icing on the Cake so close to Watertown (and a better product).

Completely agree - IOTC is much better than Party Favors! About 15 minutes away in Somerville is Lyndell's, where we go for our party cakes . . . old school and delicious and far cheaper (but not works of art like IOTC) than either Party Favors or IOTC.

We'll have to agree to disagree on Party Favors versus Lyndell's. I find the cake at Lyndell's far too dry and the frosting to be very bland. Like eating pure butter! Some people find Party Favors frosting to be too sweet but I love it.

Vicki Lee Boyajian on Trapelo in Belmont is reasonably close to you. I like her cakes and I like Antoine's cream cakes (not the frosting ones). I also like Party Favors and am not a fan of Lyndells. Haven't tried IOTC or Lily's.

When I don't bake my own, we always go to Lilly's Bakery, near the Arsenal Mall -- my favorites are their chocolate mousse cake (with white and dark chocolate and yellow cake) and their Boston Cream.

Bread & Chocolate Bakery is not too far from Watertown and makes a great chocolate cake. Lots of other cakes to order.

Lily's Cafe and French Bakery on Arlington Street in Watertown is wonderful. The caramel mousse cake rendered me ecstatic. Russo's is also a favorite.

I've had great cakes from both Lily's and Russo's-so completely agree
