How far in advance should reservations be made for Au Pied de Cochon?

My family of 5 will be visiting Montreal in August. Au Pied de Cochon is on the top of our list of places to try. How far in advance should we make reservations? It will be on a weekday.

I agree with Maximilen, especially if you want to get in at the seating you want (i.e. not at 10 pm) then I would do it sooner rather than later. Just make sure to confirm a few days before, some people on this board have experienced PDC "losing" their reservations.

Is it normal to have a difficult time getting ahold of the restaurant by phone? Been trying to call during service hours, and I just get voicemail...

I sent them an email. They called to confirm the next day.

Leave your phone number when making reservations through email as all reservation requests will be confirmed by phone.

Thanks. Yeah they actually called back last night...called back my mom rather. But she asked for the earliest time possible, which was 5pm haha. I assume it'll be booked up by then anyways and that we'll still get a scene.

5 pm, especially on a weeknight, will be quiet, and IMHO is way too soon after lunch to eat properly there. If it were me, I'd call back and request a later time.

when i emailed them, i just told them there will be 5 of us, and we would prefer to eat on August 17 or 18. is it better that i left the days and times open and just asked them what will be available?

I'd start thinking about it right now; usually "less" crowdy on weekdays, except maybe thursday or friday.
