Young Schoolteacher and Wife Visiting Boston
My 27 year old Washington DC high school teacher son and his wife will be visiting the Boston area in about two weeks. They've been before and had a grand time. They are adverturous and enjoy fine dining, hole in the wall places, local drinking spots and a great outdoor dining and drinking place. Chowhounders' have had great suggestions in the past for this couple and I'm hoping you can come through again. Here's a bit of a challenger: Our daughter in law doesn't eat beef, pork or chicken but she's fine with seafood. Thanks in advance!
scups on the harbor in east boston (take the water taxi). yankee lobster down on northern pier. the patio at davio's in cambridge. portuguese seafood at casa portugal. tapas at estragon.
I second Scups in the Harbor. It is THE hole-in-the-wall restaurant that you absolutely must try. They do have some vegetarian options, too.
I always suggest Myers + Chang in the South End. It's great for any kind of eater, especially adventurous eaters. They have "cheap date night" every Mon & Tues for $40/couple. They also have tons of vegetarian options - they're known for being accommodating to all sorts of dietary restrictions. It's also a funky-looking place and I love it!
