Trying to find german potato salad similar to Die Bretzel's on UCSB's campus in the 90s

clumber0604 Jun 27, 2010 03:27 PM

There's a great cart on UCSB's campus called Die Bretzel that serves brats and pretzels. In the 90s, they also used to serve this great warm german potato salad that had a vinegar-based dressing.

I believe the cart is still on campus, but they stopped serving the potato salad a while back. Does anyone know where to get a similar-style potato salad in the greater Los Angeles area? Thanks.

I had a terrific German potato salad at Swiss Chef Restaurant at San Marino in Van Nuys a couple of weeks ago. Warm vinegery with nice pieces of crisp bacon. It was really yummy.

Alpine Village in Torrance, a kitschy German village type of place, has a nice warm and vinegary potato salad there...
