Pasta Michi on Foothill has pretty good Italian; El Chaperal also on Foothill at Sayre, good Mexican (a branch of the Presidente/El Queso Grande restaurants). Fiddler's Coffee Shop on Glenoaks is decent standard coffee shop fare, and there's another mexican place just down the street, Casa Torres, never tried it. Remember also that Sylmar is "freeway close" to Mission Hills, Granada Hills, etc. Porter Ranch and Northridge is just ten minutes down the 118...
