Sushi Awaji

More often than not I find myself complaining more than complimenting a restaurant so I really want to give props to Sushi Awaji in Plano. I went there several years ago and the food started out pretty good but declined a bit over my subsequent visits.

Well, apparently they have revamped a bit because the last 3 times I have been there the food was excellent as well as the service. The fish is super fresh, the rolls/portions are good size and the flavor is spot on.

Watch what you order it can get a little rough on the wallet. I ordered a sally roll and dragon roll not realizing they were 14.00 each so watch the prices.

We bought our Chef a beer and service got even better although it was good to start with. The meal ended with an orange to cleanse the palate. I have tried several Sushi restaurants in Plano (who will remain nameless) that were not impressive in the least.

Sushi Awaji (IMHO) shines among the rest so I thought I would mention it. If you are in the area I would highly recommend it.

Thanks for the post. Haven't been in years but maybe we should try it again. Also in that same area a great Chinese Place Yau Fuzi I think thats what it's called. A little expensive but really good.

Sushi Awaji in Plano was, I think. a good reliable sushi place. Try the Mommasan Roll, I don't think it is on the menu but will be made on request.

OTOH, their place in Las Colinas was not enjoyable whatsoever when we tried it out. It's a large cavern, food stations are not enticing, if it isn't busy enough lots of places remain empty of their usual fare... It was very expensive for what we had to eat and have not been back there since our first visit.
