One of the best meals of past 3 yrs in Austin dining last night at Wink. Dined with 2 other couples and managed to taste about 95% of the menu. Service / front of house remains at top level in town in my opinion. Totally comfortable, warm, smart, fun and spot on in explanations of the food. Tomato salad so simple yet so easy to put forth a pedestrian dish.....not at Wink last night as the plate was beautiful, perfect with fennel, cucumber, basil, vinaigrette. YES, we are in tomato season in Austin! Pressed melon salad was delightful and perfect first course, others shared elephant garlic/potato soup and steak tartare which drew raves. Scallops, triggerfish, rabbit, waygu steak w/morels, and an awesome lamb rack. We're not an easy crowd to impress and everyone was sincerely impressed and loving it. In a nutshell, the kitchen is buzzing and putting out simply great dishes. Just great.

We were there as a group of 4 last Saturday and I totally concur that both the front of the house and the kitchen at Wink are doing an outstanding job these days.
