Her Soup Kitchen - Iowa City

We went to Her Soup Kitchen for lunch for the first time yesterday. An excellent lunch and very friendly service. We went late (around 2:30) and the place was still full of people. I had a brie and pear sandwich with walnut basil pesto. Very good, an nice balance of flavors. SO had a chicken sandwich that I think came with avocado, tomato and greens. He really enjoyed that as well. A good size portion (but not huge). If I wasn't as hungary as I was yesterday I would get half a sandwich and soup or salad. Best sandwich type lunch I've had in town and I recommend anybody who hasn't tried it do so.

Really.... you don't think they are sorta overpriced for what you get.. I only went there once, but that was the reason...

I had plenty of food and I can't think of a good lunch that costs less. Maybe I'm missing some place. It's the same price or cheaper than Mama's, close to a slice and salad from POD and similar to Seoul Kitchen which are my usual lunch spots.

Maybe it was just what I chose... best to give it another chance I guess
