Italian Food Guidebook Notes
Maybe this is news to no one but me, but Gambero Rosso has issued a new guide for Low Cost restaurants, I suspect arguably competing with Slowfood
Osterie Guide and complementing their more expensive Restaurant compilation
Its a slim, long book, attractive for travelling and not very expensive itself
I got it here http://www.ibs.it/code/9788889711774/... -
The same source sells the Slowfood books (which Slowfood will not ship out of Italy) , tthe whole Gambero Rosso line, he Micaela Scibilia Venice guides (she has a new one for Murano btw) and many , many other interesting things.

Thanks for the tip, Jen. I've ordered a few times from ibs.it with ease, and will get this one.
BTW, clicking on the Gambero Rosso link on this ibs page leads to all available GR books--I'd recommend Berebene for high value/low cost Italian wines, which I refer to alot, and Viaggiarebene, for what seems to be a very comprehensive guide to lodging at different cost levels--not just hotels, but agriturismi and locande.
