Eat Street

I am looking for a restaurant not too far up eat street, either Somali or Hmong for tonight. We are at the Convention Center and want something within walking distance that will allow us to get back there quickly.

Sorry I didn't see this in time, but, for posterity's sake: there are plenty of Vietnamese restaurants along that stretch of Nicollet known as Eat Street, but not any Hmong that I know of. There is, however, a Somali coffee shop or two right around 18th. I don't know how "quick" that walk is, but I'd be more concerned about the leisurely pace of the typical Somali meal if you're in a hurry. http://chowhound.chow.com/topics/7169...

There are no Somali or Hmong restaurants within quick walking distance of the Convention Center.

I'll let the others chime in re: what does exist right there.
