Take-Out Pizza between Miracle Mile and Westchester

I'm driving from the Miracle Mile area to Westchester and need to pick up pizza. I usually just get pizza from the Good Pizza but it is temporarily closed. Can you think of a good spot that's not too out of the way?

Thanks for your suggestions.

  1. You might give The Coop a try. I like their pizza.

    1. Hard to divine exactly what you are looking from from the original post, but here are a few suggestions in the vicinity. I did take a look at Good Pizza's website for a little insight, though I can be clueless in such things.

Antica Pizzeria (Marina Del Rey) (My favorite of the listed)
      Alejo's (Westchester)
      Pitfire Pizza (Culver City)
      Damiano's Mr. Pizza (Fairfax)

There are others near the Miracle Mile like Tomato Pie, Vito's, and Mozza2Go, but they require driving in the opposite direction from your destination. None of these are great IMO, but they are pizza and are not Domino's, Pizza Hut, Papa John's...

      1. Had the Margherita pizza at Truxton's awhile back and thought it was pretty good. According to the website, it's available for take-out.

        1. We know Good Pizza We have a friends who live down the street. The Coop is an OK substitute for but it is more like old school Boston pizza than it is The Good Pizza it also depends on who is cooking that night at the Coop. You might be better served by going to LaRocco's Pizzeria in Culver City. I think that will give you the closest approximation with out going too far out of your way.

Thanks everybody. I ended up with 2 XL pizzas from the Coop. The pizza was very enjoyable and I probably prefer their crust to the Good Pizza, which is usually a little doughy for my taste.
For those wondering, it's $14 for an XL + $1.75/topping. The XL is 18".

Thanks for coming back to report on your findings. What toppings did you get (if any)? Did you call them before you left work on the way to Westchester? Finally, how convenient was their location for your commute? I tried to think of someplace that would be fairly easy, but you never know how that's going to work given the variables of LA traffic.

Pepperoni and sausage on one; pepperoni and jalepenos on the other. The toppings are by no means standouts but when combined with cheese, a nice sauce and good crust, they make for a really nice pie. Not a destination pizza mind you but a nice place to have in your neighborhood. I called on the way and it took them about 30 minutes to have the pizza ready.
There are two basic ways to get to Westchester from here--you either go down la brea to stocker to la cienega to la tijera... or you take the 10 to the 405... Coop is very convenient if going the latter way, which I did because of Coop's location right off the freeway on National. Unfortunately, there's no 10W entrance right there.
