cheese for wineries?

If we are in Greenport, planning to go to the wineries, do we want to buy some cheese from the Village Cheese Shop and bread from Blue Duck or do we want to buy goat cheese from Catapano Dairy Farm? I don't know distance of these places to the locale.

  1. They sell Catapano goat cheese at the Village Cheese Shop. They also import Poilane bread, so you can kill 2 birds with 1 stone.

If you want to grab some supples in Greenport, there is always Bruce's Cheese Emporium right in the heart of Greenport. His bread is good and baked fresh, and he has an array of cheese. It's limited, but he has it. I'm not sure if he sells Catapano there, but there is a Market on Front Street that carries Catapano as well.

If you're going to travel to Mattituck at the start of your wine journey, might as well travel out and make the stop at Catapano and BlueDuck as originally planned.

    Enjoy!!

thanks for putting it in a little better perspective for me - i think we might be doing macari, lenz, Martha Clara(?), and croteaux this time - didn't know that Blue duck is close to catapano.

    2. I like to stop at Sang Lee for the produce, but they have a nice grab and go selection of local cheeses, I've gotten Catapano and Mecox Farm there. Mecox is from Bridgehampton if you haven't heard of it, their cheddar is out of this world. Sang Lee is in the same vicinity as the goat farm.
